Building relationships and creating connections has always been something at the heart of who I am. Was I always destined for a career in the sales industry? Well, if you ask my parents, they’ll tell you that I somehow always managed to negotiate my way into, or out of, whatever my mind was set on at the time, and there was never a shortage of conversation or ideas when I was around. Thinking on my feet was a skill I had mastered at a very young age!
My career in the industry began at 21. Fresh out of university after finishing my law degree (yes, there were a few disappointed family members when I didn’t become the lawyer or barrister they’d hoped I would be), I found myself walking the streets with a suitcase on wheels and before I knew it, I’d become a travelling sales woman selling anything from kitchen cutlery sets, to flashing pens. This was my first taste of being self employed and if I’m honest, I found the thrill of the sale quite exhilarating.
Fast forward 16 years, and I’m proud to say I’ve had a successful career building product portfolios, negotiating rights contracts and selling a range of advertising channels across local and international waters. I’ve grown numerous sales teams from the ground up discovering real talent that has gone on to shine in the industry, and most recently, took my co-founded sales representation agency from start up to brand acquisition after 6 years in business.
I’m driven by a passion to help sales leaders around me grow and thrive and I have a strong belief that anyone with the drive and ambition to succeed can get there by surrounding themselves with the right people, the right tools and most importantly, the right mindset.
